Post # 11: You've Got Mail!

Hi! And Happy Winter Solstice!!!
So today, as I was checking my email and replying to the one email that I had received I was thinking about one of my all-time favorite movies (mentioned in Post #9: Random Stuff about Me) 
In it the two main characters, Joe Fox and Kathleen Kelly- played beautifully by Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan) met in an online chat room and are email pals who have never even met. Then they meet. But since they only know each other as NY152 (Joe Fox) and ShopGirl (Kathleen Kelly) and they are business rivals, they become enemies. But NY152 and ShopGirl are keeping their online romance alive still. And then they decide to meet. But there are complications that I cannot tell you, as I don't want to ruin it for you if you haven't seen it yet! And then the real life versions of NY152 and ShopGirl (Joe and Kathleen, if you didn't understand that they are the same person. :P ) become friends for a reason I don't want to spoil for you! And that is all I can tell you. But in addition to being just an awesome movie You've Got Mail has some of the best movie quotes ever. (In my opinion) Such as:

• "That caviar is a GARNISH!"
• "What is it with men and the Godfather?"
• The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino.
• Matthew is my father's son, Annabelle is my grandfather's daughter. We are... an American family
• What will NY152 say today, I wonder. I turn on my computer. I wait impatiently as it connects. I go online, and my breath catches in my chest until I hear three little words: You've got mail. I hear nothing. Not even a sound on the streets of New York, just the beating of my own heart. I have mail. From you.

Hello Everybody!
So I had NO idea what to blog about today! SOOO...I will talk about someone who is awesome!
Here are your clues:

• he is a man
• he is married
• he is a celebrity
• he has his own late night talk show
• he is super funny
• he has been on SNL
• I would probably marry him

IIIIITTTT'SSSS JIMMY FALLON!!!
So, Jimmy Fallon has his own late night talk show called Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
On Fridays he does Thank You Notes, where he sarcastically thanks thing (like socks and sandals) or people (like Miley Cyrus) His Thank You Notes are SO funny that he has two books about them! I have read them both. I almost peed my pants from laughing so hard! (ok, let's pretend I didn't say that.)
Also, on Wednesdays he does Late Night Hashtags. They are super funny as well. You can watch them by clicking this link:Click HERE!  Some of my favorites are, #HalloweenRap, #Iusedtothink #MomTexts, and #WorstCarIEverHad. Basically, Late Night Hashtags are lists that Jimmy Fallon makes on Twitter with the hashtag (for example) #WorstCarIEverHad and then people on Twitter-or as I will call them here, Twitter People or TP for short- will Tweet back their responses along with that hashtag and then Jimmy will read his favorites on the show. (I am pretty sure that's how it works, anyway. I
'm not on Twitter.) Anyway, they are super funny and you should watch them. His show is on weekdays and 12:36am on NBC. you have to stay up really late to watch but I think it's worth it.  do wish his show was 2+  hours though! (it's a tad heavy on the commercials!)  So, I think that's all I have to say about Jimmy Fallon!

Post # 9:Random Stuff about Me

Hello  Everybody!!!
Happy Holidays! Today (Sunday, December 1st, 2013 in Washington State) is the official start of the holiday season in my opinion. To me the holiday season means shopping for presents and decorations, making lots of lists-there are two kind of people in this world, those who make lists and those who don't...I am a list-maker!-making lots of FOOD, and sharing this special time of the year with your loved ones. Please comment below with things that make the holiday season special to you, I am working on a list of a bunch of holiday traditions!  I would LOVE to hear them!
Now some interesting (I hope) facts about me:
My favorite actors are, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meg Ryan, and Tom Hanks.
My favorite books/series are, The Last Dragon Chronicles by Chris D'Lacey, The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins, The Watch that Ends the Night:voices from the Titanic by Allan Wolf (I just finished reading this book last night! It's sooooooo good! A historical fiction must-read!), and many more books! I can't even name them all in this post! ;)
My favorite tv shows/movies include, Glee, Titanic, Catch Me If You Can, Forrest Gump, You've Got Mail, Les Misérables, and probably others that I can't think of right now!
My favorite hobbies are, acting, reading, blogging-of course!!- drawing, crafts, volunteering at my local library.
My favorite music includes, country, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Broadway shows tunes ( I'm an actress! So sue me. )

Post #7: Duct Tape Flower

Hello! Today I am going to show you how to make a Duct Tape Flower.

The things you will need:

• Three different Duct Tapes-I like using two printed and a solid. You can buy Duct Tape on Amazon, at Target, JoAnn, as well as many other stores and websites.
• One NON-RETRACTABLE pen.(this means the pen does NOT have a "push-button" on the end of it.You can find these anywhere, I like the Dollar Store because you can buy about 12 pens for about $1.25.)
• scissors (optional, I prefer to just tear my Duct Tape, but do whatever feels best to you.)

         And, that's it! Lets  get started making our Duct Tape Flowers.

Start by wrapping the bottom of your pen with the the Tape of your choice.

(Let's call this Tape A for future reference.)

Leave the pen cap on so you don't tape where the cap goes and the you can't

get the cap back on at the end of the project.

Wrap the rest of the pen in the same Tape A.

Take a small square of Tape A and put it on the end of the pen.

Now choose a tape that you want to be on the inside of your flower (Tape B) and tear of a small-ish

rectangle and fold over one of the corners to the middle.

Then take the other corner and fold it to the middle as well. Don't be worried

about it not sticking enough, it'll be fine!

You will now have a triangle with a long, sticky rectangle at the bottom. Stick it to the pen, 

sticky rectangle facing towards the cap of the pen.

Make another triangle out of Tape B and stick it onto the end of the pen the same way

but facing TOWARDS the first triangle you made.

Repeat; adding more of Tape A to the top of the pen in a flower-like pattern.

Your flower should look similar to this. Now for the next tape!

Tear off a square of your next Duct Tape. (you guessed it! This is Tape B.)

Fold over the two corners the same way you did with Tape A.

Place on flower. Try to put it so the point is in an opening.(sorry if this doesn't

make a ton of sense to you. I don't know how else to explain it.)

Make another triangle (with a rectangle on the bottom), but instead of putting

it opposite of the first just place it next to the first triangle point, leaving a small 

space between.

Repeat. Continue the pattern of placing the triangle point next to the previous one.

Tear off a square from Tape B and rip it in half, leaving you with to strips

of Tape B.

Place the two strips around the bottom of the flower-where it meets the 

stem-to cover up any ragged edges.

If you are using a printed tape you can try to line up the pattern, but I don't

usually.

Ta-Da! You have now completed the Duct Tape Flower!  Yay! 

WARNING:THE DUCT TAPE FLOWER IS A VERY ADDICTIVE CRAFT. 

CRAFT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Post #8: Reading is my world

Hello, Everybody!!

So, I am quite the reader, if I do say so myself. (and I do say so.)   My latest literary obsession is...drum roll please...
THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY!!!
I would hate to live in Panem and to have to live through the Hunger Games year after year, but they are sooooooo good! (In my opinion. You are entitled to your own opinion(s) of course.)  
 I have read the first two (The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire) twice and am in the process of reading the third (Mockingjay) for a second time.
If you have not read The Hunger Games Trilogy-that is the series's official name. Mostly it's just called Hunger Games or The Hunger Games.-here is a link to Goodreads.com's Hunger Games page: Click Me!  I haven't seen the Hunger Games (the first book) movie yet, but I don't know if I want to. Most people say it's great but I don't know......we'll see if I decide to watch it!

Also, Wonder by R. J. Palacio and Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern are beautiful books. Please read them! They are so good!

Post #6:New Sharpies!

Hey Everybody!
I just got some new Sharpies (permanent markers) from Staples!
Here's a picture:

aren't they lovely?

They work really well so I would suggest getting some! They have them at Walmart and Target too. (FYI Sharpie makes thicker markers in the same pack if you enjoy those more.)

Something great about Sharpies-if you haven't used them before-is that they write/draw on almost anything. Paper, wood, human skin...:) If you get it on your skin you can try to wash it off but the ink will come off on it's own in a couple of days. I don't know about getting it on your clothes. just a moment, let me Google it. (don't you just love Google?) here is a link to getting permanent marker out of clothes: Click me! hope this helps!
